Well, Celebrity cruise line has gone and let me have a sneak peak at the brand new Celebrity Edge on 13th May for 2 whole nights, I am so excited to see this new and innovative ship, it has been a while since Celebrity has added to the Fleet, in fact, the last one would have been Reflection in 2012, with everyone else seeming to add another cruise ship every year. I looked at the brochure and even Celebrity don’t seem to know what they are putting on this ship it is so top secret…
The Edge is not going anywhere exciting, unless you count Southampton and around the channel. She then sail’s from Southampton on 15/05/2019 for 10 nights across to Rome, which I wish I was on that one, but I still need to sell some cruises this month.
These short cruises seem crazy to the people who cruise all of the time, but to us, they are golden opportunities and we are so lucky to get them. It is a chance to see all of the innovation and excitement on a new ship. It is also a chance for Celebrity to test out the Vacuum flushing toilets and electrics before the fare paying people get on the ship.
Celebrity Edge has the “magic” carpet on one side of the ship, completely unique, cannot wait to see how this works. I am normally a ship purist but I am intrigued how this will work and what the customers will think…
Most of the new ships, are getting bigger and bigger, the Edge Class ship is not much bigger than the Solstice Class ships. I think Celebrity have made the decision to keep doing, what they do best and provide great service, at the right price, for the discerning traveller.
