To Cruise or Not to Cruise? Which is best value?

This cold weather has certainly got me thinking of a little winter sunshine so I had a look at what it would cost me to get a way for a couple of weeks in February.  I didn’t want to go too far away so decided the Canary islands with their balmy climate would be perfect. I costed up two weeks in 4 Star hotel and the price came in at around £1000.  If I wanted a sea view it was around £1300. Great I thought that’s not bad value. Then I thought what about a cruise? I looked and found a two week cruise on P&O’s Oriana leaving on the same date 15th February.  An Inside cabin came in at £749 or an outside cabin £999.   The cruise was a little cheaper but not that much so now I had a decision on my hands. When I’m not sure which way to go I like to list the pro’s and cons, so decided to look at what value I was getting for my money.
