Navigator of the Seas & her $115 million refurbishment

Wow, $115 million dollars, yes you read it correctly and I for one am very excited to see the end result. The last time I cruised onboard Navigator was May 2017 and we loved this ship and wouldn’t hesitate to get back on board. Navigator is back fro her re fit on the 24 February so not long now and if you are lucky enough to be booked on one of the Caribbean itineraries sailing from Miami I’m sure you are now getting very excited as I know I would be! I’m really looking forward to hearing from those who are on board in those early days and can’t wait for all the photos.

So just what’s in store for Navigator. Well, she’ll be getting two new waterslides, the first of their kind. One will be called the Blaster, think roller coaster at sea and you have it. It’s going to be the longest slide at sea, more than 800 feet and as the slide will extend out over the side of the ship! I’m not sure I’m brave enough to try this but I think it’s going to be fantastic and a real hit with passengers on board.
The other slide will be called Riptide and this one will send you head first through a see-through tube, again another I’m not sure I will be trying anytime soon. It seems that cruise ships and water slides now go hand in hand with lots of ships offering their own unique experience. Not for everyone of course but great to have that choice and that’s what it’s all about.

There’s going to be a new pool area, which from the photos looks amazing, it’s going to have a Caribbean feel and be an area perfect for everyone. There’s also going to be the new signature bar over 2 levels called Lime & Coconut in keeping with the theme.

As always Royal Caribbean have thought of all of those families out there, there will be Glow in the dark laser tag, I know my little girl Sofia will love this, mini golf and a newly designed area for the teenagers to meet up.

There’s going to be lots of new restaurant and bar options for passengers including to name a few, Hooked Seafood speciality restaurant, I tried this one on board Symphony and it was fantastic! There will be the Bamboo Room, Jamie’s Italian, Johnny Rockets Express and more.

Also new to Navigator during the refurb will be “To Dry For”…what is this you ask?…..well it’s a blow dry bar!!! Here you can have your hair styled and blown whilst drinking champagne, now this sounds like my kind of place. Pampered whilst drinking a glass of fizz what could be better!

All in all it looks like Navigator is going to be pretty impressive after this huge makeover and I can’t wait to see the photos, keep an eye on my page and I’ll share them with you soon.

As always thanks for reading Abbi x
