Majorca here I come…

It’s finally here and this week I’m excited to be flying off to Majorca for 10 days with my family. This year we’re going with my husband family which is a first for us, we haven’t been away together before so it will be nice to have some quality time with them. We don’t see them as often as we would like they live in Wrexham so although not a million miles from us, life as I’m sure you will agree, gets very busy. Sofia is so excited to be going on holiday with her cousins and must have asked me a million times or more “how many more days mummy until our holiday?” It must feel like such a long wait for her and finally she has packed her little trunkie and is ready to go.

We’re staying in Alcudia, on the north coast of the island. I have been to Alcudia a few times but it was so long ago. It was the place I started my time as an overseas rep for Cosmos, my very first season was spent working in Alcudia. I never looked back after arriving in Alcudia to start work and it was a start of such happy times in my life, I’ve got lots of amazing and very special memories.  We are talking about 20 years ago so I imagine it has changed so much since then. I remember it has a beautiful old town and a really pretty marina and a fabulously long beach. The beach stretches for 14 km all the way to the next resort of C’an Picafort.

I do remember it was one of the busier resorts I worked in over the years, so I can imagine it is probably busier and much more built up these days. It will be great to go and see just what has changed, although I am relying on my memory from way back. One day I will dig out my old photos which are hidden away in the loft somewhere and share some with you.

We’ve got a really early morning flight so it means we’ll be leaving for the airport around 3am! Such an early but it does mean we are there nice and early which I always prefer. We’ve opted for an aparthotel again and are self-catering so I really can’t wait to try out all the local restaurants. The marina is packed with lots of choice, the seafood restaurants will be my favourite.

So plenty of sun, sea, great food, family time and relaxation…I honestly can’t wait.

Thanks for reading and I’ll be back in touch when we’re home. Bye for now Abbi x
