Abbi's ABC Of Cruising

Celebrity Eclipse…dining on board.

As you know last week I was lucky enough to be invited on board the Celebrity Eclipse whilst she was docked in Liverpool as part of the British Isles cruise. I had a great day on board which started with a tour of the ship and then relaxing in the restaurant with a delicious lunch and a nice glass of wine. I love Celebrity and especially the Eclipse, one of my favourite ships.

She is a ship with elegance, style and glamour, I think you can see from my photos just how beautiful she is. Eclipse has so much to offer and one of the things that stood out to me as I took the tour were the dining venues on board. Dining really is key on board and there are some really fantastic options.

The Moonlight Sonata two tiered dining room is so beautiful and I think one of my favourite main restaurants on a cruise ship. It’s stunning and a perfect setting for breakfast, lunch and your evening meal if you choose. There is a great menu with lots of choice, the staff are really attentive and it really is a stunning main dining restaurant. There is a wine tower which is a such a great feature, there are around 1800 bottles of wine all kept to the correct temperature and this is where your chosen bottle of wine comes from.

The buffet style restaurant on board Eclipse is the Ocean view cafe which is a great choice. On walking through this restaurant on the tour I could see the choices were plentiful and the buffet is always a popular choice for breakfast and lunch. There were lots of tables, and lots of waiters ensuring tables were ready for guests.

Speciality dining options onboard Eclipse really are fantastic. There is Qsine where tiny projected waiters appear on your table and prepare your food, such a unique experience for guests and one you definitely have to try whilst on board. It’s an experience like no other.

Murano is the French option on board a real hit with my customers and I have had nothing but great feedback from and there is also the Italian steakhouse Tuscan  Grill where I have personally dined and would highly recommend.

Sushi on 5 is another option which doesn’t only service sushi as the name suggests there is also a great range of noodle/Japanese dishes.

Cafe Al Bacio is a small cafe serving cakes, pastries, coffee and really is a popular option, I remember sitting here on my last cruise people watching whilst enjoying the most delicious selection of pastries.

Blu Restaurant is for those guests who have booked an Aqua Class stateroom and again a really beautiful setting with a more healthy style menu which doesn’t take away from the taste. This is a small intimate restaurant where most tables are set for two.

Those guests lucky enough to be in a suite are treated to a very special dining experience throughout their cruise in Luminae. This is exclusive for suite passengers and really does enhance your cruise dining experience.

All in all as you can see there is so much choice and I always think that if you get the chance to try the speciality restaurants don’t miss out, even if it’s just one throughout your cruise and I promise it’ll be one of the highlights of your trip.

As always thanks for reading and watch out for more information and photos from Eclipse.
