I just returned from a 12 day cruise on the Explorer on Feb 13. When we departed from Port Liberty NJ we were told that we would be going directly to St Thomas instead of stoping in San Juan so they could replace the broken prop. Repairs were attempted in Port Liberty but the water was so dirty the divers could only see 6" to 10" in front of them. When we arrived in St. Thomas, divers worked from 0700 hrs until 1800 hrs and the problem was still not corrected. The divers also inspected the hull for damage. It was at this port that the interim Capt was asked to report to Miami for a debriefing on the cause of the damages. Several of the crew members informed us that the interim Capt was dismissed from his command and we received another Capt. When we arrived at our next Port, the Captian that normally commands the ship returned from his vacation and resumed command. Our voyage was not intrupted other than bypassing San Juan. The only issue was speed. With only two props we ran at a top speed of 19 knots and returned to Port Libert in Nj with no other issues.
