Thomson Spirit has an excellent variety of very good quality food available all the time. The Lido is the buffet restaurant and always has food available from breakfast, lunch, afternoon tea, dinner, late night buffet and then....food during the night! Lots of variety and they have theme nights too like Mexican or Indian.But...why not try the Compass Rose restaurant just once- not too formal but waiter service and the waiters are brilliant and...they entertain you during dinner. Also there is a poolside grill serving the usual- pizza, burger, hotdogs, but also does chilli, jacket potato etc- quite nice. Then once a week there is an on deck BBQ which is delicious! Then in the Chef's corner, outside the Lido there is always a particular dish available during lunchtime- in other words...food is excellent and be prepared to put on weight! Enjoy your cruise!

Thanks for your helpful reply. Sounds ideal.I may try the Compass but I do generally prefer flexibility. Nrver been on Thompsons but reviews seem positive so we have booked 2 next year.

Forget to mention that if you do want to go to Compass Rose it is not set times- you can go anytime and the Maitre D is excellent at keeping queues down- if there are only 2 of you he will also get you a table for 2 if you dont want to share. We have just come back from Med cruise on the Spirit for the 4th time and had an excellent time so I am sure you will too.

Iona- A little island, a Big ship.

By Trevor Smith

P&O have announced the name of their new ship for what will be their biggest vessell.Iona. Having Googled Iona the name is actually quite fitting. P&O as a company can trace their roots back to Scotland, and Iona is an island off the Scottish coast. You can see the sea from anywhere you are on the island, much the same as you can whilst on board a ship. The first, of many, bits of steel was cut on the 25th April this year and she is due to launch in May 2020. You can start to boo...

MY USA Trip Seattles Fo...

By Collette Apak

I was already loving the vibe of Seattle. Our first day packed so much in, but day 2 was set to involve one of my favourite things which is food.Small American breakfastWe had an early start (which was fine as the jetlag had me awake at 5am) and breakfast in the hotel set me up for another busy day. Our first tour was within walking distance of the hotel and was an underground history tour in Pioneer Square. Sawmills played a big part for Seattle as it became a very big player in the timber i...
