We were on the Sea Princess during October / November 2007 sailing the Caribbean and were able to use our debit card on board. Obviously the currency on board, and throughout the Caribbean Islands is the U.S. dollar. The current exchange rates Pounds to Dollars are very poor. Get small denominations of US dollars notes if you can - some of the Caribbean isles try to give change in their local currency i.e. Eastern Caribbean Dollars which are useless outside the Caribbean. If you give a 50 dollar note you could end up with a lot of 'useless change'.
