Hi, last time I was on Island Star April 2008, I sent a few items to the laundry and I thought the prices quite reasonable. Approx prices were T shirts £1.60, Trousers £2.30, Jeans £2.00, Dress £3.30, Shorts £1.60, it was a quick and good service and everything came back in first class condition. The price list and instructions on what you have to do is found in your cabin. Hope this has been of some help.

Cruised twice on Island Escape this year, towards the middle of the cruise there was an offer of a certain number of items at a set price which made it more reasonable. We had a clothes line in our shower which made it easy to wash out underwear etc. Would have preffered a self service launderette as on thompsons and Ocean as it means you can bring less clothing, perhaps the star will aquire them once Thompsons take over.

Hi We disembarked from the Island Star on the 1 January 2009, and the laundry prices do not appear to have increased. The only comment I will add to the previous post is that if you require your laundry to be returned to you on the same day and not the next day, there is a 50% surcharge for the express service. Price list and laundry bag will be in the wardrobe either on top of the safe or on a hanger, if you are still concerned ask your cabin steward or phone Guest Relations (ext 70) Enjoy your cruise.

I’m a big fan of Royal Caribbean and recently went on The Independence of the seas after she had been in for refurbishment in April.Always nice to visit a ship that seems brand new. She’s 10 years old now but all the same after a refurbishment it still feels new. I’d not been on her since her launch back in 2008 and I could see that a lot had changed. If you were to look online and research the changes you will probably see that a lot more cabins have been added to fill emp...

As most of my readers and customers will be aware of by now, I became a dad in August last year, and in the last couple of weeks, having had almost a year off work on maternity leave, my wife has gone back to work.As she works in education, her hours are none negotiable, Monday to Friday daytime, usually finishing around 5pm ish. Now, before we had the baby, I had literally no idea the crazy cost of child care! Roughly 50 per day! OUCH!So in an effort to reduce the cost of this down, whilst bo...
