Rowley - Answered a Question by TUCKER (02 Oct 08 08:49)

Hi folks we are on the same cruise. We have arranged our own flights and are stopping in genoa for a night before the cruise. Anyone know which berth the ship is sailing from Eric, West Yorkshire.

Rowley - Answered a Question by TUCKER (26 Oct 08 07:26)

Hi We are a party of 4, Myself and my wife and two (mature) ladies. I have booked the whole thing myself as seperate items. We didn't see the cruise until late and my wife and I got the last outside cabin and the ladies who booked later got the last inside cabin (or so we are told.) The cruise apparently was completely booked a few days after it was launched. In fact MSC have offered us places on the 2009 cruise. We are flying from Manchester to Genoa. We have booked an Hotel overnight near the port. When we get to Durban, we have hired a house about an hour away and are spending a few days exploring the area. Then we are going to drive up to J' burg and fly back to Manchseter. We have all visited South Africa before and love the place, but I have only been on one sea cruise before to Alaska. I am a bit apprehensive about Sea Sickness, but am determined to overcome it. About drinks, no I wasn't able to read the menu's which are on the internet for some reason, but all the reviews seem to show them as reasonable. The gratuities are $3.00 per person per night added to your bill (according to MSC whom I contacted) Hope this helps and we meet you sometime Eric Rowley.

Family cruise On Indy

By Emily Watts

Emily Watts's blog

Time really does go fast. It wasn’t that long ago I was counting down the days until our family cruise, and now it has been and gone. You have probably seen lost of posts on the newly refurbished Independence and here is my take on it.We went on the 5 night sailing over to Cherbourg and Cobh in May half term. On the day we sailed away it was in the late 20’s which unfortunately didn’t last, but we were lucky it stayed dry. Like previous years we have got up early and t...

Viking Ocean Cruises have an exciting new feature on their newest ship OrionThis will be the first of their ships to feature a planetarium although not the first in the cruise industry. However it is the most advanced on a cruise liner. The dome will be located in the Explorers lounge but has not taken up any seating space and has been fully sound checked to make sure it doesnt disturb any guests using the lounges. The dome will feature laser-beam projectors, studio speakers and 2D & 3D opt...
