Royal Caribbean's new ship - Independance of the Seas is sailing for 14 nights on 31st May 2008 to the Med from Southampton, there are other 14 night cruises sailing 2 different itinaries also on this ship in the med for 2008. Hope this helps. Carol.

June would be lovely in the Caribbean before the onslaught of the hurricane season although again some years are better than others. In the Med one trip we did Barcelona to Venice on arrival in Venice the views were spectacular as the whole city unfolded in front of your eyes as you slowly made you way to the berthing point. If booking a cabin then starboard for arrival into Venice and port for departures this way you see the fantastic sights without all the pushing and shoving up on the open decks. Not for getting Barcelona another beautiful city so maybe stay over before joining the ship. Looking for a 14 day trip in the Med is a bit more difficult more and more do 10/11 or 12 days option.

By Trevor Smith

Trevor Smith's blog

P&O have announced the name of their new ship for what will be their biggest vessell.Iona. Having Googled Iona the name is actually quite fitting. P&O as a company can trace their roots back to Scotland, and Iona is an island off the Scottish coast. You can see the sea from anywhere you are on the island, much the same as you can whilst on board a ship. The first, of many, bits of steel was cut on the 25th April this year and she is due to launch in May 2020. You can start to boo...

Well, I have been working hard as always since Christmas but I have just enjoyed my first bit of time off this year and I was so ready for a break !!!!I haven’t had the greatest of years so far, my husband was diagnosed with DVT’s in February and has been undergoing various specialist and hospital appointments as they were classed as unprovoked, no cause for them. On a recent test it showed a fr...
