Before the rude suggestions, you should look for a mid deck cabin and at the lowest deck that you fell comfortable on.

Absolutely agree. Midship is ideal.

Midships and lower rather than higher. I was told by a retired sailor that if you make sure you're looking at the horizon when it's rough your stomach will understand so you shouldn't feel sick.

Middle of the ship and as low down as possible. By middle I mean not only the centre of the ship lengthways but inside cabin not an outside cabin. Clue is nearest the medical centre!
