Was on the Rhapsody in June - great little cruise but definitely not as formal as their larger ships. I took my DJ but I would have looked like one of the wine waiters had I worn it. Therefore the most formal it got was lounge suits and ties - having said that, it was by no means shoddy. We really enjoyed the atmosphere on the Rhapsody and we do enjoy 'dressing for dinner' and formal restaurants.

There will normally be a large contingent of Italian & German on MSC in the Med. Most do wear smart suits with less emphasis on DJ's but little or no evidence of the Baseball Cap Brigade (Thank God). Most Brits have been in DJ on the 2 MSC's I've done.Regards.

After this, it’s definitely small ship cruising for me!So what is she like? I had a conversation with one of my clients last week about Azamara and he said he thought the ships would be too formal and posh for him. How wrong could he be?The s...

On the day we sailed away it was in the late 20’s which unfortunately didn’t last, but we were lucky it stayed dry. Like previous years we have got up early and t...

Iona- A little island, a Big ship.

By Trevor Smith

Trevor Smith's blog

P&O have announced the name of their new ship for what will be their biggest vessell.Iona. Having Googled Iona the name is actually quite fitting. P&O as a company can trace their roots back to Scotland, and Iona is an island off the Scottish coast. You can see the sea from anywhere you are on the island, much the same as you can whilst on board a ship. The first, of many, bits of steel was cut on the 25th April this year and she is due to launch in May 2020. You can start to boo...
