As the newest flagship for Costa Cruises, the Costa Deliziosa is a state-of-the art vessel designed for the ultimate in cruising luxury and entertainment.
Along with its sister ship, the Luminosa, the Delizosa was built by Fincantieri - a shipbuilder renowned for creating some of the most impressive liners currently afloat. It was launched in 2010 and christened at Port Rashid in Dubai.
The ceremony was held in conjunction with the opening of the new cruise ship terminal and a bottle of date juice was used for the event instead of the traditional bottle of Champagne in order to show respect to the local Muslim community.
generally based in Europe, the Deliziosa offers cruises around the western Mediterranean and the Baltic. Popular ports of call include Barcelona, Rome, Naples, Malta, Lisbon, Amsterdam, Palma de Mallorca, Casablanca, Helsinki, Amsterdam and Copenhagen.
In addition, the vessel occasionally departs on 100-day world cruises, sailing to places like the Caribbean, South America, Mexico, California, Hawaii, Australia, New Zealand, Singapore, Thailand, India, the UAE and Egypt, before returning to Europe.
