Cruising The Caribbean Onboard Celebrity Equinox

I have recently returned from a wonderful trip around the Caribbean onboard Celebrity Equinox with my niece Shanon.

We started our trip with 2 Nights in Miami, staying at the Casablanca on the ocean west tower.

The rooms are pretty basic self-catering apartments but had everything we needed for a short stay. Guests at this hotel are also allowed to use facilities at the sister North tower hotel across the street.

We were pretty tired after a long flight so planned to spend our first day relaxing at the beach. This worked out perfectly as we were given private access to the beach from the North Tower Hotel.

On Monday morning we headed to the cruise terminal to meet the ship and what can I say other than total Chaos!! There were about five other ships in port at the time so of course, the port was busy. However, I think the police were making things worse. Their constant whistle blowing and shouting at people made the whole experience pretty stressful.

Thankfully things calmed down once we were inside the terminal and with Priority Boarding, we were onboard in no time.

Our cabin was ready on arrival and with a nice bubbly surprise, from our lovely Celebrity rep Shaun. We had a lovely 2B grade balcony on Deck 7  I don’t always book balconies but there are some destinations where I think they are essential and the Caribbean is definitely one of them.

It was a beautiful sunny day as we left Miami, then just as we set sail a huge downpour hit us! I was really hoping this wasn’t a sign of things to come. Luckily, it didn’t last and we were soon greeted with a beautiful sunset as we set headed off for two days at sea on route to Antigua.

Join me next to find out what we did once we reached the islands…..
