Excited For South Africa!

I’ve just finished making the final arrangements for my trip to South Africa next month and I’m very excited.

This is the second time I’ve been to this beautiful country and this time will be extra special, as I’ll be being a groomswoman at my good friend Graeme’s wedding in Johannesburg.

They were engaged at Easter and Graeme did such a good job that  the proposal was aired on a US TV show!

I’ll be travelling over there with my friend Anna. We plan to spend a week in Johannesburg for the wedding and to spend some time with the happy couple before flying to Cape Town for a week.

I like to have freedom and flexibility on my travels, so we’ve decided hiring a car in Cape Town will be our best option.

Once we arrive we’re heading straight from the airport to Aquilla Game reserve located approx two hours outside of Cape Town for a two-night stay. I’ve been on Safari before but there were no lions or Tigers on that reserve so I’m really looking forward to this adventure!

When we get back to the city we’ll be checking in to a stunning apartment at Waterfront Village on the V&A waterfront for 5 nights.

We’ve decided as we’ll have a car we’ll do our own in thing in Cape Town rather than go on organised excursions.

The First place we’ll be heading is my choice and took some persuasion, but finally, my friend Anna has agreed to come, White Shark Cage diving with me. So we’re going to the aptly named “Shark Alley” near the fishing village town of Gansbaai to hopefully come face to face with Jaws!!

If we survive we hope to spend the next few days visiting table mountain, maybe a bit of the garden route and anything else that takes our fancy along the way.
