Going Going Gone!

So last week Royal Caribean launched a new scheme that seemed to be rather unpopular with some of its most existing Crowne and Anchor members worried they may not get their upgrades. Ive personally not seen anything to say the existing benefits have changed so I don’t think they have to worry.

The scheme basically works like an auction for those who already have an existing booking and cabin grade you will get the opportunity to place a bid on a higher more superior grade of cabin. Customers will receive an email giving them the opportunity to make the bid from a list of available staterooms, you will then decide how much you want to bid in us dollars and then submit the request and keep those fingers. and toes crossed its accepted. Each cabin category has a guideline and has a minimum upgrade cost. You also have to register your card against the bid so if it is accepted then you are committed.

The bids are per person based on 2 but the good news is if there are 3 or 4 of you in the cabin then only the first 2 passengers are charged.

RCCL are advising to make bids over several grades so you can increase your chances.

Now this isn’t new in the cruise line industry as NCL launched exactly the same thing last Jan

So would you be happy biding on your cabin grade or would you just prefer to choose the right cabin in the first place…
