Shes almost here and ready to sail, Virgin`s new cruise ship Scarlet Lady and her voyages are now on sale. This is what they say about her –

“Ahoy Sailor! Welcome to how we do cruises voyages. A 24/7 festival at sea where tranquility meets curiosity with no kids, no buffets, and no limits. Come stray with us ”

Certainly sounds interesting, so lets take a look at her, because she is very different. She is adults only for a start and she has no buffet restaurants. She will sail out of Miami on a series of 4 and 5 night itineraries calling at Havana, Costa Maya and Puerto Plata. There is also the Beach Club at Bimini in the Bahamas which is seriously luxurious and features in all the voyages.

Fancy helping Mr Branson celebrate his birthday? Well his Birthday Bash is in July 2020 and you can be there if you want to pay from $ 2950 per person for an ” Insider ” ( that is an inside cabin to you and me ! )

The ship looks to be aimed at a young, trendy market with cabins called Insider, Sea View, Sea Terrace and Rock Star Suites. How this will go down in the British market remains to be seen. All sorts of hi-tech equipment will be installed in all of them.

Food will be one of the highlights of the ship with over 20 ” Eateries ” – and no buffet in sight. Again they describe this far better than I can

Entertainment will be as different as everything else and called Events and Gigs ! Gratuities are included as are all the restaurants along with basis drinks, soft drinks really. No set dining times, no dress codes really nothing remotely like a normal cruise ship at all, You can even get a tattoo on board if you want !
