The New Azamara Pursuit

Much loved P&O Adonia has now become Azamara Pursuit and her new itineraries have just been released. She will be, in the words of her new family, ” In Pursuit of Dream Destinations We’re opening the door to maiden ports, new itineraries, and unforgettable, unique experiences with Azamara Pursuit.” Sounds wonderful and I`m sure the many passengers who have travelled on both Azamara and P&O will be looking at these cruises with great interest.

Looking at her new livery she is exactly like Quest and Journey, and will fit in perfectly. Inside she will have the same English Country House feel that is typical of Azamara, along with seven restaurants, cafes and lounges. Of course regular Azamara cruisers will know all about the ship but it is the destinations that are different, with new ports only accessible by smaller ships and more overnight stays as well. She will sail for the first time on 3rd August 2018 from Barcelona to Southampton.

It is really the second trip that will be good news for small ship fans as she sails in and out of Southampton on 13th August. The voyage will take in four ports in Iceland, Oban In Scotland. two Irish ports, Dublin and Waterord, before visiting Fowey in Cornwall and then returning to Southampton.

After that one its back to Barcelona for a series of Mediterranean cruises. Some especially nice Greek Isles ones in September with lost of  new ports. The one on 29th is really good , an 11 nights sailing from Athens to Spetses, Mykonos where she is in port overnight, Paros, Rhodes, Aghios Nikolaos and Chania in Crete, Igoumenitsa, Dubrovnik and Venice. Here winter season will be in South America with again lots of new ports to visit.

The ship and her voyages will appeal to die hard Azamara guests and also anyone who prefers small ships, but will her prices put off past Adonia clients?

Lead in price for the August Southampton round trip sailing is £ 5559pp for an inside cabin but do remember that this includes pretty much everything, drinks, gratuities and her Azamazing experience. I think she`ll be well worth a try.
