World’s Scariest Wedding Venue

World’s Scariest Wedding Venue

Deciding a wedding venue can be arduous – something you love may be something your partner detests – but we can’t see anyone objecting to this incredible location; a marriage hundreds of feet above the ocean, inside Quantum of the Seas’ must-see attraction, the North Star (unless you don’t have a head for heights in which case it may be utterly terrifying).

The North Star is a pod that cranes high above the sea giving its passengers entirely unrivalled panoramic views of the surroundings – it has to be the best place for a wedding ceremony we’ve ever heard.

Sharron and Mark Burden from the UK became the very first to get married inside the North Star, and they were married by Captain Felix Srecko, whom is authorised by Bahamian government to perform weddings at sea – like all Royal Caribbean captains!

The North Star can hold 12 guests – with the Captain and the happy couple were the ship’s hotel director, wedding coordinator, two photographers, two video camera operators and the North Star’s operator. A crowd gathered at the pool below to watch the ceremony, and to add to the romance and spectacle, the Captain arranged for the ship’s horn to sound as the North Star rose.

Definitely one of the best at-sea weddings we’ve ever heard of! Would you get married in the North Star, or is there a particular destination you find romantic?
