Southampton has always been one of the UK’s most popular ports due to it being a large port and playing host to a variety of different cruise ships each year.
Looking forward to 2021, we thought it would be nice to get excited about some of the cruise ships that will be making Southampton their home for us to enjoy next year.
So here’s our list of some of the best ships that will be in Southampton in 2021…
Anthem of the Seas
In 2021 Southampton will welcome with open arms Royal Caribbean’s second Quantum Class ship, Anthem of the Seas. The mega-ship holding up to 4,180 passengers will be sailing to the Mediterranean next summer whilst offering a huge range of activities on board for her guests to enjoy including skydiving simulator Ripcord by iFly, the largest at sea entertainment and sports area including bumper cars, video games and roller skates.
After the original launch date for Iona was postponed, P&O Cruises brand new ship is now due to set sail in 2021 from her homeport Southampton. The new ship will be the cruise line’s new flagship and will be the biggest ship ever built for the UK market. The new ship will have a huge focus on entertainment and have enlisted Gary Barlow as one of their ambassadors and musical director of the onboard club 710 so you’re in safe hands with this ship.
A feature not to be missed is the breathtaking SkyDome onboard which is a giant glass dome where you can enjoy entertainment and immersive shows.
It was only a few weeks ago that we found out the great news that Regal Princess would be in Southampton during the summer of 2021. Regal Princess is one of the first in the fleet to become a MedalionClass ship meaning it features OceanMedeallion technology onboard which makes your trip even more personalised than ever before. The quarter-sized, wearable device enables everything from faster boarding to the ability to locate your loved ones around the ship, to whatever you need, delivered!
Following a recent renovation, Celebrity Silhouette is heading for Southampton in 2021 for us all to enjoy. With 85% of cabins on board now featuring sweeping balconies and ocean views there’s no better time to book your place on board. Not only that but the ship now also includes ‘The Retreat’ as part of their Suite Class experience with its own dedicated suite accommodation, private restaurant and exclusive lounge and sundeck.
Queen Victoria is one of the favourites in the Cunard fleet and if you’ve ever been on board, you’ll know why. The ship has a distinctly British style to it without having all the bells and whistles some other cruise lines have. It’s more about elegance and sophistication than surf simulators and rock climbing walls. If you’re after something a little more traditional when it comes to cruising then Queen Victoria might just be the ship for you with a stricter dress code and old-fashioned pursuits including ballroom dancing and bridge.
