The launch of Virgin Voyages first cruise ship, Scarlet Lady, is just one year away and its tropical itineraries and cabin designs have just been announced.
1,160 crew members will also be onboard four and five-night “Havana After Dark” itineraries which will also feature an overnight stay in Havana, Cuba.
Scarlet Lady will also offer five-night “Mayan Sol” voyages to Costa Maya, Mexico, and five-night “Dominican Daze” itineraries to Puerto Plata, Dominican Republic.
Guests will be able to enjoy extended port hours and an overnight stay or a late-night sail away on all cruises.
“Our research with Sailors unearthed their desire to go to places that allow for a variety of experiences,” Virgin Voyages vice president Diana Block Garcia stated.
“Our destinations offer a combination of opportunities for exploration and relaxation, to complement our Virgin Voyages experience.”
Each of the 1,300 cabins will be equipped with a custom-designed Seabed that transforms into a seating area for room to relax with friends, eliminating the potential awkwardness of having to sit on someone’s bed in their cabin.
The lights in all the cabins and 78 RockStar suites will automatically adjust to enhance the time of day depending on where the ship is sailing at that time.
Officials have revealed that 93 percent of cabins will offer an ocean view and 86 percent will have a terrace; there are also cabins specifically designed for solo travellers.
Travellers who are cruising onboard Scarlet Lady in a group will have the option of special rooms with four chalet-style bunk beds.
The inaugural season opens for bookings February 5th for pre-sale deposit holders and February 14th for all other cruisers.
The surprises just keep appearing for cruisers either booked with Virgin Voyages, or considering it. Last year, Richard Branson revealed a tattoo studio would be found onboard Scarlet Lady aswell as music-themed suites.
