Thomas Cook Collapse: Everything You Need To Know

On September 23rd 2019 Thomas Cook, one of the UK’s most well-known travel agents ceased trading. 

Following this morning’s sad news that Thomas Cook has gone into administration you will, understandably, be concerned about your booking. If you have a Thomas Cook flight as part of a booking with Cruise.co.uk we will be contacting you to make alternative arrangements.

We also know that many of the Cruise.co.uk community members will have made Thomas Cook bookings elsewhere. We’ve gathered links to all of the main sources of information and advice here, in one place, for your reference.

If you, or anybody you know, has been personally affected by this then we recommend visiting the Thomas Cook CAA webpage. This site contains all of the information and advice that you will need to get through these tough times.

Cunard Cruises

“If you have a booking with Thomas Cook Group plc, please be assured your booking with Cunard is safe. We will contact you in due course, but please ensure your contact details are up to date on Voyage Personaliser, by visiting Cunard.com and the ‘Manage my booking’ section. If you require any further assistance with your booking please call 0344 338 8662 where we will be more than happy to assist”

Princess Cruises

“If you have a booking with Thomas Cook Group plc, please be assured your booking with Princess Cruises is safe. We will contact you in due course, but please ensure your contact details are up to date on Cruise Personaliser. If you require any further assistance with your booking, please call 0344 338 8662 where we will be more than happy to assist.”

Royal Caribbean Cruises

“We’re sorry to say that today, Monday 23rd September, Thomas Cook was placed into administration. Please be assured we will be doing everything we can to ensure you still have an amazing trip. We will honour all elements of the booking which Thomas Cook made through Royal Caribbean. We are contacting all guests affected by the news, in sail date order. If your sailing is not within the next 7 days, please wait for us to contact you. All package holidays with a flight sold by Thomas Cook are protected by ATOL. ATOL certificates are issued at the time of confirmation and give details about the level of protection this provides you. Cruise-only holidays sold by Thomas Cook are protected by ABTA.”

Celebrity Cruises

“We are sorry to hear the news that Thomas Cook has ceased trading. We are contacting all guests impacted by this and will be doing everything we can to ensure their holiday plans go smoothly. Customers who have booked a Celebrity Cruises holiday through Thomas Cook can rest assured that we will honour all elements of their booking that Thomas Cook made through us. In addition, any payment they have already made for these elements is secure. We are asking guests travelling within the next seven days, to please call us on 01932 834194. Otherwise, we are contacting all guests in sail date order, so please wait for us to contact you. In the meantime, we want to be sure we’ve got your contact details so please email us at [email protected] with your full name, phone number, email address, ship name and sail date. Include ‘Thomas Cook’ and your Celebrity Cruises booking reference in the subject line.”

P&O Cruises

“Update for guests booked with Thomas Cook. We will be contacting all guests who have current or future P&O Cruises holidays booked through Thomas Cook. All P&O Cruises holidays booked through Thomas Cook will be going ahead as planned. Those travelling on Thomas Cook aircraft on our fly/Caribbean or fly/Mediterranean cruise holidays will also be updated as soon as we have confirmed alternative aircraft.”

MSC Cruises

“We are incredibly sorry to say that today, 23rd September 2019 our valued partner Thomas Cook has ceased trading. Our priority is to ensure that guests who have booked with MSC Cruises through Thomas Cook are still able to travel on their cruise holiday. In order to give up to date information to these guests, we urge those travelling in the next 2 weeks to get in contact with us directly on 0207 660 8423. We have extended our contact centre opening hours in order to deal with these calls and as a result, the contact centre will be open from 9.30 am – 8.00 pm for the rest of this week. From Wednesday 25th September we will be addressing all other bookings in sailing date order, therefore request that those guests contact us on the above number from Wednesday.”

NCL Cruises

“IMPORTANT NOTICE: Norwegian Cruise Lines has taken over Thomas Cook bookings. All future payments and communication should be made to Norwegian Cruise Line directly. A new confirmation will be sent in the coming days. For questions in the meantime, please call 0044 -(0)2380 718 916.”

Oceania Cruises

For guests currently booked with Thomas Cook travel agencies: Following the financial failure of Thomas Cook, Oceania Cruises has taken over your booking. All future payments and communication should be to Oceania Cruises directly. We will send you a new confirmation in the coming days, but if you have any questions in the meantime, please call our call centre on 0345 505 1920.

Azamara

All package holidays with a flight sold by Thomas Cook are protected by ATOL. ATOL certificates are issued at the time of confirmation and give details about the level of protection this provides you. Cruise-only holidays sold by Thomas Cook are protected by ABTA. If you are travelling within the next seven days, please call 01932 834154 – we’re open 8.30am – 8pm Monday to Friday and 10am to 5pm on Saturday. We are closed on Sunday. Otherwise, we are contacting all guests in sail date order, so please wait for us to contact you. We will honour all elements of your booking which Thomas Cook made through us and we’ll take you through the process when we get in touch.
