Six Wonderfully Unique Themed Cruises for 2022/23

How about combining your love for cruises with your passion for something else in your life? Maybe it’s a genre of music, a hobby or sports. Cruise lines now offer a whole variety of themed cruises, meaning you can indulge yourself in what you love to do with other like-minded people while also enjoying all the delightful luxuries of a cruise.

Below, we share six of these wonderfully unique themed cruises available for the 2022-23 season.

The two types of themed cruises

Themed cruises can take two forms. There’s the full-ship cruise charter, where the whole cruise is dedicated to everything around the theme. Then there are partially themed cruises, where guests can enjoy various themed activities with others while the rest of the cruise stays familiar with what you’d typically expect.

1) High Seas Rally

Extend the motorbike rally season on a seven-day, rockin biker-themed chartered cruise. For one all-inclusive price, you can sail around the Caribbean onboard Royal Caribbean’s Mariner of the Seas, immersed in a motorbike rally like no other. Enjoy world-famous rock bands, including Colt Ford, Foghat and Molly Hatchet, each performing two full shows, onboard & onshore parties, games and giveaways.

Dates: October 29th – November 5th 2022

2) The Jazz Cruise

The first and only full-ship cruise charter dedicated to “straight-ahead” jazz, with more than 100 of the world’s best jazz musicians performing, including Wynton Marsalis, Dee Dee Bridgewater, Christian McBride and Monty Alexander. Sailing with Celebrity Cruises on Celebrity Millennium, the Jazz Cruise takes in Florida and the Caribbean. Prices vary depending on cabin choice, but all options include all concerts, shows, events and included dining.

Dates: January 6th -13th 2023

3) Craft Cruises

For something a little more serene, Craft Cruises offers a variety of cruise holidays for guests seeking to improve their craft skills and meet with others who share their interests. Options include knitting-, crocheting-, needlepoint- and Christmas craft-themed cruises, each having experts onboard and bespoke classes to help you advance your skills or discover new projects. Sailing with Holland America Line, Craft Cruises has a range of itineraries, including Southeast Europe, Canada, New England, Alaska and the Baltic.

Dates: Various

4) Star Trek: The Cruise VI

This cruise is the ultimate immersive experience for all Trekkies. On this 7-day holiday, you’ll have the opportunity to see Star Trek actors delivering dramatic performances, comedy shows and concerts. There’ll be intimate speaking events with leading scientists, themed parties, interactive games and shows. Onboard Royal Caribbean’s Navigator of the Sea, you’ll go on a voyage to discover the USA’s West Coast and Mexico. Prices include all performances, interviews, parties and events and included dining.

5) Flower Power Cruise

Take a step back in time to the seventies and enjoy a week of grooving on the Flower Power Cruise. Live nightly performances feature headline acts, such as Herman’s Hermits, starring Peter Noone, Felix Cavaliere’s Rascals, Micky Dolenz – Voice of The Monkees and The Yardbirds. Post-performance, you’ll even get to mingle with these talented performers during Artist Q&A sessions, panel discussions, game shows and pool parties. Sailing from Miami, you’ll visit Belize City, Cozumel and Costa Maya, Mexico, all from the luxury of Celebrity Cruise’s ship Celebrity Summit.
