Royal Caribbean has just unveiled plans to launch a series of exclusive private island destinations across the world.
Perfect Day at CocoCay is the first destination in the collection to be announced and will be a $200 million transformation of the line’s existing private island in the Bahamas.
Royal Caribbean’s president and chief executive, Michael Bayley, said: “We are introducing the Perfect Day Island Collection to deliver the most memorable holiday for adventure seekers on land and onboard our ships.
“Once completed Perfect Day at CocoCay will be the ultimate family destination in the Caribbean.”
Perfect Day at CocoCay will be launching in 2019 and will feature a 13-slide waterpark; the Caribbean’s largest freshwater pool, Oasis Lagoon; a 1,600-foot zip line and a helium balloon which floats up to 450 feet above the ground.
Passengers who visit will also be able to use two beaches: one called Chill Island and the other named South Beach.
Cabanas constructed over water will be on offer at the exclusive Coco Beach Club which is set to launch in November 2019.
Royal Caribbean also announced it was dedicating $900m to its Royal Amplified programme; the fleet modernisation project will enhance passenger experience by introducing a range of new features and experiences.
Over the next four years, ten ships will be modernised as part of the programme.
