It’s the news a lot of UK Royal Caribbean fans have all been waiting a long time for…
This summer they will be launching brand new sailings around the UK onboard their Quantum-class ship, Anthem of the seas. Guests can choose from 4- to 8-night itineraries, including ocean getaway and cruises around the British Isles for UK guests (including guests from Northern Ireland).
These new cruises will go on sale at 3 pm on the 7th April 2021 and all crew will be fully vaccinated! The cruises – at this time – will be available to UK residents above the age of 18 who are fully vaccinated against COVID-19 and those under the age of 18 with negative test results. Details on additional health and safety measures will be announced at a later date.
Not only that, but Royal Caribbean is also recognising the tremendous efforts of the emergency services, National Health Service (NHS), the social care sector and armed forces over the last year by offering 999 free staterooms on its first Ocean Getaways to those UK residents in these professions.
If you’ve never sailed with Royal Caribbean before, we thought we’d share with you a little bit more information about what you can expect from Anthem of the Seas…
Things to do onboard
There will never be a dull moment when you sail onboard Anthem of the Seas with plenty of activities to keep the entire family entertained during your stay. Practice your surfing skills on Royal Caribbean’s famous FlowRider surf simulator or feel the wind in your face on the RipCord by iFly skydiving simulator and feel what it’s like the freefall without even leaving the deck.
The UK coast has some of the most breathtaking views on offer and you’ll really get the best views of these on Anthem of the Seas with Royal Caribbean’s North Star observation capsule. Being the winner of the Guinness World Record for tallest viewing deck on a cruise ship, you’ll see the UK coastline as you’ve never seen it before.
For even more family fun, head to the onboard SeasPlex to enjoy a ride on the only dodgem cars at sea or if you’re looking for more of a challenge, head to deck 15 and take on the signature Rock Climbing Wall and climb up to 12 metres.
Anthem of the Seas is full of dining options from more casual choices to formal dining settings. Classic favourites include Dog House, for all your hot dog needs, Chops Grille for hand-cut steaks and Jamie’s Italian by Jamie Oliver for Tuscan-inspired cuisine.
For something a little more special, why not book your spot on the Chef’s Table? Here you’ll join an intimate group of fellow guests on a food journey led by the ships Chef de Cuisine and experience five exquisite courses expertly paired with the perfect wine.
Other dining options include sushi in Izumi, dishes beyond your imagination in Wonderland or for those with a sweet tooth, enjoy some French confectionery in La Patisserie.
To celebrate your return to cruising, you’ll have a huge choice when it comes to grabbing a drink onboard Anthem of the Seas. Start your drinks journey at the Bionic Bar where you’ll meet two robotic bartenders who know how to mix up your favourite cocktail. Simply input your order and watch the robots get to work.
If you’re into your wine, then you won’t want to miss a visit to Vintages wine bar. Choose from a range of wines from France to California as well as some exclusive bottles you won’t find anywhere else. And if you’re looking to pair your favourite tipple with some live entertainment, grab yourself a seat in Schooner’s Bar and prepare to sing-along to some classic songs with the rest of the bar.
