Royal Caribbean has just announced a $115 million renovation on Navigator of the Seas that will break records for the line.
The ship will receive new restaurants and top deck attractions as it sails three and four night cruises to the Caribbean.
Its modernization will offer guests a lineup of firsts and Royal Caribbean favourites, including :
-A mind-blowing Caribbean poolscape
-Two exhilarating waterslides
-The first blow dry bar at sea
-Fantastic nightlife and dining
-Thrilling activities for the whole family
Navigator of the Seas will set sail on her first cruise from Miami on February 24th 2019 and beginning May 2019, she will offer short Caribbean itineraries.
These will visit Royal’s exclusive and much-loved private island in The Bahamas, Perfect Day at CocoCay.
Is This Over-The-Top?
Navigator of the Seas’ top decks will be the centre of this weekend escape with moments of pure adrenaline.
The Perfect Storm will bring the boldest duo of waterslides yet, from The Blaster (the cruise line’s first-ever aqua coaster) to the longest waterslide at sea.
Adventure-lovers will be able to hop on a two-person raft that will propel them through over 800 feet of hills, drops and straightaways, and it gets better…passengers will be extended over the side of the ship for a moment of madness in the sea air.
But on Riptide, passengers will plunge down the cruising world’s only headfirst mat racer with an exhilarating finish through a translucent tube that are accompanied by ocean views.
Royal Caribbean’s signature features like the FlowRider surf simulator and rock-climbing wall will still be found onboard.
The re-imagined poolscape is infused with Caribbean vibes and something new to the scene will be The Lime and Coconut, a two-level signature bar as pool days transform into pool nights with live music and a “rooftop” deck for a bird’s-eye view.
Elevated Dining and Dancing
For a little beauty-fix before a night onboard, guests can stop off at To Dry For, the first standalone blow dry bar at sea.
It will be offering blowouts, hairstyling and polish changes along with a selection of wines and champagnes.
The Bamboo Room was first introduced on Mariner of the Seas as the cruise line’s Polynesian-themed watering hole with kitschy-cool cocktails and unique tiki-chic décor.
Anyone wanting to watch the big game or host a game night, Playmakers Sports Bar & Arcade features 50 big-screen TVs, tabletop games, tournaments, trivia, a new Owner’s Box VIP room alongside ice-cold brews.
Guests can expect the most popular Royal Caribbean restaurants to be onboard Navigator of the Seas, from a refreshed Chops Grille steakhouse to Jamie’s Italian for a range of rustic Italian dishes.
Any food-lovers who are fans of fresh seafood can expect to dig in with unbelievable ocean views in a casual setting; from lobster and crab claws to local fish and just-shucked oysters at Hooked Seafood.
Royal fans can also look forward to a Starbucks onboard with its extensive menu of drinks and pastries.
Unmatched Adventure For The Family
Royal understand that a cruise onboard Navigator of the Seas should mean time off for the parents as well as opportunities to have fun as a family.
Families can take part in glow-in-the-dark laser tag with Battle for Planet Z in Studio B, mini-golf and the Royal Escape Room: The Observatorium, where guests need to solve new mind-bending puzzles before time runs out.
There’s something for the younger kids too with the line’s new take on the Adventure Ocean youth program in a newly designed open, free play space.
With trained staff and the cruise line’s award-winning programming, the modern concept means imaginations can roam free with something for everyone.
The teen areas will also receive updates with a redesigned Living Room, the teen-only laidback hangout, as well as a new “hidden” entrance and outdoor deck for that exclusive vibe.
Once Navigator of the Seas arrives to Miami following her modernization, she will sail a series of 5- and 9-night Caribbean itineraries.
This will be before offering vacationers 3-night weekend and 4-night weekday sailings to The Bahamas starting May 2019, which will be the first visit to Perfect Day at CocoCay– the most recently announced in Royal’s private island collection.
With a $200 million makeover, this is the ultimate family destination with a Thrill Waterpark featuring 13 jaw-dropping slides, like Daredevil’s Peak– the tallest waterslide in North America!
Oasis Lagoon is the Caribbean’s largest freshwater pool; Up, Up and Away is the helium balloon that floats up to 450 feet in the air for the highest vantage point in The Bahamas.
Chill Island is for some R&R on the beach; and the action-packed South Beach is for anyone interested in sports, paddle-boarding, glass-bottom kayaking and much more.
