Holland America Line Refreshes Canaletto Menu Highlighting Authentic Italian Dishes

Canaletto, a renowned speciality restaurant of Holland America Line, has refreshed its menu with a delicious new lineup of delectable Italian dishes. 

Fresh pasta, made onboard, will be at the epicentre of the new menu, all made by Holland America Line’s team of expert chefs. Alongside delicious pasta, the new menu will include a new three-course meal, small plates, main courses, desserts, drinks, and a Special of the Day. 

The pasta we make on board is exceptional and we want the updated menu to continue to reflect an Italian experience with a focus on freshness and authenticity. Each course has a selection that brings the flavors of Italy on board no matter where our ships are cruising, and the update adds some exciting new dishes and cocktails.

Small plates will feature tasty Italian classics, such as creamy Burrata, a signature Canaletto Salad, delicious grilled Tiger Shrimp plus a popular Antipasto Plate complete with prosciutto di parma, finocchiona salami, truffle salami, Terre Ducali coppa, Parmigiano Reggiano and Sicilian olives.

As for main courses (also known as Entrees onboard), guests will be able to sample a diverse range of new dishes, such as perfectly seated Mediterranean Seabass, delectable Casarecce Pesto Genovese, and hearty Italian Sausage Paccheri, alongside returning favourite dishes Parmesan Crusted Chicken Breast and Chianti-Braised Beef Short Rib.

Passengers with a sweet tooth will delight in the range of desserts on offer at Canaletto, such as classic Tiramisu, simple yet sensational Affogato, decadent Chocolate Hazelnut Tart, and a trio of gelatos, which will be made fresh daily onboard. 

To complement these gastronomic delights, Canaletto has also spruced up its cocktail menu too. Guests can cheers with fresh Aperol Spritzs, Spumonis, Tuscan Lemon Drops and a signature Canaletto Bellini, alongside a mouth-watering selection of wine, beer and digestives. 

Canaletto is open on Eurodam, Koningsdam, Nieuw Amsterdam, Nieuw Statedam, Noordam, Oosterdam, Rotterdam, Volendam, Westerdam, Zaandam, and Zuiderdam for dinner only. A $25 per person surcharge is required to dine at Canaletto, and is included as a speciality dining option as part of the “Have it All” package.
