Princess Ups Entertainment With Champagne & Strawberries For Wimbledon Plus Extra Special Guests

Princess Cruises has just finalised its full spring and summer entertainment programme for 2017 onboard Crown Princess.

Passengers sailing to the Mediterranean and northern Europe on seven and 14-night cruises between now and September will not have to worry about missing out on major sporting events such as football, the Ryder Cup and Wimbledon on TVs in their staterooms and on the top-deck cinema screen.

Themed food and drink will be served to mark special occasions and complement screenings. For instance: champagne, Pimm’s and strawberries will be on offer during Wimbledon fortnight.

Former England captain and football manager Terry Butcher; Paul Burrell, butler to Diana, Princess of Wales; Edwina Currie MP and Pete Best, the original drummer for the Beatles, have all been lined up as special guests for certain cruises throughout the season.

There will be exclusive meet-and-greet sessions, including photographs and book signings, and each speaker will host a 45-minute talk with questions and answers.

Some speakers will also be judges on The Voice of the Ocean, an onboard singing competition for Princess guests, which is based on the popular ITV series, The Voice.

A first for the cruise line will be a Last Night of the Proms celebration with various themed activities, including marking Shark Week from July 23rd in partnership with the Discovery Channel where a whole week is dedicated to the creatures.

There will be performances from guest entertainers including Ria Jones, who has performed in leading roles in several West End musicals; The Hollies singer Peter Howarth; and former winner of The Voice, Leanne Mitchell.

Pop concerts will also be on both the big and small screen, featuring stars such as Annie Lennox, Peter Gabriel, Sting and Lady Gaga, and several UK TV channels will be available for the very first time on a Princess ship, including BBC and ITV HD, Sky News and Sky Sports News, as well as the latest films for passengers’ entertainment.
