Princess Cruises teams up with Discovery for new activities

Princess Cruises has partnered with Discovery Consumer Products to unveil a number of new activities for passengers at sea.
The two groups will join forces to create Discovery At Sea, featuring a range of onboard activities such as themed tours, science activities, programmes and games related to Discovery’s range of brands and TV shows.

Some of the experiences guests can look forward to are based on Discovery Channel favourites such as Shark Week, Mythbusters and Deadliest Catch.

Guests can look forward to Discovery, Animal Planet and Science Channel shore excursions, where passengers will be able to learn about each destination’s native animals.

The Discovery Kids and Teens Program is also an exciting prospect for children and teenagers, with games including puzzles, competitions and apps.

Jan Swartz, president of Princess Cruises, said: “Discovery’s brands resonate with a growing, global audience and we’ll be bringing some of their most popular programs to life for our guests in the context of the destinations they are visiting on their cruise.
“We’re creating meaningful and memorable shared experiences while also fueling a lifelong passion for travel.“

Mr Swartz went on to say that the partnership is exciting because both brands are “passionate about exploring the world”.

Nicolas Bonard, senior vice-president of Global Discovery Consumer Products, also commented on the partnership, noting that Discovery brands can provide something for all cruisers to enjoy.

Mr Bonard went on to say that Princess is “igniting curiosity on every voyage”.
