Outrage As Cruise Line Increases Daily Prices For 2016

It has been revealed that Norwegian Cruise Line have increased the price of their ultimate beverage package to $79 a day per person, with an 18% gratuity on top of this price.

This charge was previously $69 a day and the new cost (with the current exchange rate) works out as £56.61 per person, per day, excluding the gratuity and service charge.

Unlimited style beverage packages have proved very popular with guests in recent years as they often work out as the cheapest option for those who like to enjoy spirits, beers or speciality coffees.

The new price has left some guests shocked, and you can read what our cruise community thought of the news here.

However, the good news is that certain NCL sailings include the ultimate beverage package in the price of the cruise. If your drinks package is important to you, our advice would be to look out for one of these select sailings.

There are also other drinks packages available for a cheaper price, such as the “corks and caps wine and beer package” for $59 per person per day and a soda package for $7.50 per person per day. Both packages include an 18% gratuity and speciality service charge on top of this price.

You can find out more about the prices of drinks packages available with other cruise lines here.

What do you think of the news? Are you shocked by these new prices or do you think they are reasonable?
