Oceania Cruises Christens Spectacular New Allura Class Ship At Star-Studded Ceremony

The wait is finally over for Oceania Cruises fans, as the luxury cruise line’s hotly anticipated first Allura Class ship, Vista, has been officially christened at a star-studded event in Malta this week!

Malta’s capital city Valletta played host to the glittering ceremony, attended by the ship’s Godmother, renowned Emmy award-winning foodie personality Giada De Laurentiis, and Grammy award-winning musician Harry Connick, Jr, who delivered an unforgettable live performance as part of event proceedings.

I am so honoured to have been chosen as godmother of this incredible new ship and be a part of this glorious night in Malta.

From amazing culinary experiences to thoughtful details at every turn, Vista is truly a dream ship. Cheers to this inaugural season and to everyone who sails aboard her.

Giada De Laurentiis

Alongside her Godmother duties, Giada has also created two signature dishes that will be served onboard Vista, in speciality Italian restaurant Toscana, and The Grand Dining Room. The venues are two of 11 exemplary restaurants available onboard Vista, in addition to a range of other opulent amenities and facilities.

Vista boasts the most spacious staterooms at sea, all-veranda accommodations, new Concierge Level Veranda Staterooms exclusively for solo cruisers, eight bars, lounges and entertainment spaces (including a Mixology cocktail bar), an Aquamar Spa and Vitality Centre and an Aquamar Spa Terrace.

We have been eagerly awaiting this historic day as we christen our first new ship in more than ten years and pave the way for an exciting future. The world-class experience of this beautiful ceremony perfectly aligns with Vista’s impeccable onboard experience, which features a stunning design, exceptional entertainment, top-notch service and innovative culinary delights.

We are so thankful to our team members and partners worldwide who have worked tirelessly to bring us to Vista’s grand debut.

Frank A. Del Rio, President of Oceania Cruises.

Vista will set sail on her maiden voyage departing from Rome on 13th May, before embarking on a, now sold-out, summer season in the sunny climbs of the Mediterranean. She’ll sail to Canada and New England in September before her range of winter cruises in Mexico, Bermuda and the Caribbean.

In 2024, Vista will return to the Mediterranean embarking on a series of Grand Voyages sailings, calling at renowned ports and cities in Italy, Greece, the Holy Lands and Turkey.
