NCL Increase Room Service Charge… But Drop Dining Prices by $0.05

Remember a few weeks ago, when we told you that Norwegian Cruise Line were bringing increased charges to room service menus? (You can read the article here.)

Well this change, which was previously only made to the Norwegian Breakaway and Getaway as a test, has now been rolled out fleet wide.

No matter what ship you sail on, you will have to pay $7.95 for each order placed. (Although you might be pleased to know that this charge excludes morning coffee or continental breakfast!) Room service orders will remain complimentary for those passengers that are booked into a suite or The Haven.

The charges for speciality restaurants fleet wide have also been slightly changed.

Cagney’s is now $29.95, instead of $30.

Moderno Churrascaria is $19.95, instead of $20.

Le Bistro now costs passengers $19.95, instead of $20.

La Cucina is now priced at$14.95 from the previous $15.

Two restaurants that have remain the same price are Ocean Blue at $39 and Teppanyaki at $25. All Asian speciality restaurants will now be complimentary.

These prices do not include Norwegian Cruise Line’s 18% gratuity which is added to all beverage and dining packages and speciality restaurants. It has also been announced that the children’s prices to dine at speciality restaurants has been changed from half cover to full cover price.

What do you think of the news? Do you think these added extras are getting too high or are they just becoming the norm? Let us know in the comments below!
