It’s common cruising knowledge now that over the next decade, MSC will be taking over the seas as part of their $10 billion investment.
But, we weren’t prepared for the line to have three new ships on the go in the space of eight hours after launching a new ship the week before!
MSC Seaview was christened by Italian actress and singer, Sophia Loren in Genoa on Saturday 9th June before commencing her maiden voyage the following day.
Here are the next three MSC ship ceremonies taking place in the space of eight hours:
MSC Bellissima Float Out
Capacity: 4,500 passengers
Tonnage: 171,598
MSC Bellissima will offer a stunning array of features to rival her sister ship, MSC Meraviglia.
The ship will feature the line’s MSC for Me technology which provides an enhanced onboard experience such as connecting you to other guests, the crew and the ship itself.
The two-deck inside promenade will feature a spectacular 80-metre-long LED dome and is lined with places to shop, eat and drink.
There are 20 bars and 10 restaurants to choose from, including speciality restaurants.
For entertainment, guests can enjoy two brand new Cirque du Soleil shows designed especially for MSC Bellissima, and relax in the desert themed Water Park- an oasis for kids and families.
MSC Grandiosa Coin Ceremony
Capacity: 6,300 passengers
Gross Tonnage: 181,000
MSC Grandiosa will offer even more public space than her sister ships, along with a list of exciting innovations.
Cirque du soleil at Sea has created two brand new shows exclusively for MSC Grandiosa, which guests can experience in a high-tech lounge whilst savouring a superb culinary experience.
And if passengers choose the Aurea Experience, they will be able to appreciate the pleasures of flexible dining and unlimited drinks in a dedicated restaurant.
MSC Meraviglia Plus II Steel-Cutting & Name Announcement
Capacity: 6,297 passengers
Gross Tonnage: 177,100
This will be the second in MSC’s new Meraviglia-Plus class ship, following MSC Grandiosa (first in the class), but the name is yet to be announced.
The Plus ships will also feature Cirque du Soleil performances, an indoor promenade with a digital sky ceiling, an indoor amusement park, an outdoor water park and the first contemporary fine art museum at sea.
