MSC Cruises has just revealed to fans two new Cirque du Soleil at Seas shows that will be performed on MSC Bellissima.
The shows called Syma: Sail Beyond Imagination and Varelia: Love in Full Colour are the latest products of MSC’s partnership with Cirque du Soleil.
Both productions will be performed in the 400-passenger Carousel Lounge venue onboard MSC Bellissima with its 360° rotating stage that guests can sit all the way round.
Pierfrancesco Vago, MSC Cruises’ executive chairman, said: “With the creation of Cirque du Soleil at Sea we wanted to bring our guests the very best in on board live entertainment and more importantly something that they would not be able to see anywhere else in the world.
As a family company, all our strategic partnerships are built on shared values and a shared vision– a true collaboration from beginning to end.”
Syma takes the audience on a journey as a young sailor with a vivid imagination braves different elements; Varelia puts a futuristic twist on the traditional medieval tale of a courtship between a princess and a blind man.
The artists for the new shows have officially been cast and are currently training in Montreal, Canada.
Eight shows will be available on the line’s Meraviglia-class ships once they all come into service with two shows on each of the four ships.
MSC Meraviglia was the first ship to debut the new Cirque du Soleil at Sea concept when the shows Viaggio and Sonor launched last June.
MSC Grandiosa and MSC Virtuosa will both feature Cirque du Soleil shows when both launch in November 2019 and October 2020.
Guests can book Cirque du Soleil shows in advance or on board if seats are available.
Vago continued: “With Cirque du Soleil at Sea we wanted to bring yet more innovation to our entertainment offering and this began with the bespoke design and construction of the state-of-the-art entertainment lounge through to the creative development of the shows, where we are involved every step of the way from early conception right through to final delivery of the shows.”
MSC Bellissima will be officially named in Southampton, the UK’s most popular port, on March 2nd 2019 before embarking on a Mediterranean season in the summer.
