Marella Cruises launched a television advert on New Year’s Day, its first after its rebrand from Thomson Cruises in October last year.
The line is looking to cement its new brand name among key audiences and is furthering this with its 10-second advert; it features in the same ad breaks as Tui and is shown on terrestrial channels, including ITV and Channel 4, and various Sky channels.
Producers of the advert are reassuring viewers that Marella Cruises is still part of the Tui brand and aims to highlight the quality service onboard- take a look at the brand’s new year ad below:
Managing director of Marella Cruises, Chris Hackney, has stated: “It’s the first time in our history that we have had a cruise advert on television.
“We’re really proud of our brand and as cruising becomes more popular we are moving forward as Marella Cruises, continuing to strive to offer amazing itineraries, fantastic entertainment and the friendliest staff at sea.”
Marella means ‘shining sea’ in Celtic and was chosen in October 2017 to give the cruise line ‘stand out in the cruise market’ and its own identity from the company’s European cruise brand, TUI Cruises.
At the same time, Thomson changed to Tui and the cruise liner, Thomson Spirit, will go under the name Spirit until her last voyage on 21st October 2018.
