Classic, iconic cruise line Cunard, known for five-star service, has marked a significant milestone in the life of their highly anticipated new ship, Queen Anne.
Queen Anne will be, once complete, Cunard’s 249th ship! She will join a trio of exceptional, luxurious ships currently in the Cunard fleet, including Queen Mary 2, Queen Victoria, and Queen Elizabeth.
On 8 September 2022, Cunard celebrated the keel laying of the new vessel, held at the historic Fincantieri Marghera shipyard in Venice, Italy which was attended by Cunard and Carnival UK leadership teams.
Queen Anne’s new Captain, Inger Thorhauge, was the guest of honour at the event, which formally marks the start of construction and the completion of the design and development of the vessel.
A coin was unveiled by Cunard to mark the glorious occasion, which was set into the ship’s keel by Captain Thorhauge. The new coin resides next to an original coin from Queen Anne’s reign.

Over the last three years, world-leading designers have worked with master ship builders at Fincantieri to design a ship that reinforces our position as a world-famous luxury brand across all continents.

When Queen Anne enters service in 2024, she will complete itineraries starting from Southampton, Fort Lauderdale to the Canary Islands and the Caribbean in January and February.
Guests on board will find a selection of fine-dining venues, dazzling entertainment options and outstanding service on board.
Cunard say the investment in Queen Anne is part of the company’s ambitious plans for the future of Cunard globally and will be the first time since 1999 that Cunard will have four ships in simultaneous service.
