A Letter To Cunard’s Fourth Yet-To-Be-Named Ship From Cruise.co.uk

A Letter To Cunard’s Fourth Yet-To-Be-Named Ship From Cruise.co.uk

Dear Cunard’s fourth ship,

By 2022, it will be the first time since 1998 that Cunard have had four ships in simultaneous service! You’re already setting records before you’ve hit the water.

You’ll be joining Queen Elizabeth, Queen Mary 2 and Queen Victoria but the question on every Cunard fans lips is: will the fourth ship in the fleet keep to tradition?

letter

Let’s start with what we do know. You’ll carry an impressive 3,000 passengers (more than any ships in the existing fleet can hold) and your gross tonnage will be 113,000.

The latter makes you the heaviest ship in the history of the fleet! So we can’t help but ask…what could account for the difference in tonnage?

Will there be extra outdoor space? Will we be faced with new activities in these areas, never-before-seen on Cunard? Is it the onboard suites that will be expanding?

letter

There have been rumours of a potential new winter garden or an outdoor courtyard for the ship’s Princess and Queens Grills. Or is it a larger observation lounge we will be faced with?

We have one main thought we keep on coming back to, however. Cunard fans are loyal, dedicated and the current three ships are their style down to a tee.

So will you stick to tradition? Would it not be wrong to stray away from the timeless elegance and luxurious amenities the line are so well known for?

letter

And as for the name- that’s a whole other story! The Royal family have welcomed in the Duchess of Cambridge and the Duchess of Sussex since Cunard last launched a ship so this could change the game.

We were so intrigued what our cruisers thought about your name so we put it to a poll and the results were very interesting…

There are rumours that you will represent a new modern experience, but just how far will Cunard take it? With mega-ships launching left, right and centre, there is a lot to live up to.

It is 2019 and the cruising world is now faced with the likes of the first rollercoaster at sea, the first trampoline park, skydiving simulators, Michelin-star chefs onboard and a lot more.

But surely Cunard will do what it does best…formal nights, elegant staterooms, a walk through history, afternoon tea, grandeur, luxurious spas, ballroom dancing…

letter

We have no doubt you’ll give the people what they want; perhaps even what they didn’t know they wanted.

Yours Sincerely,

Cruise.co.uk
