High-Tech MSC Seascape Launched in New York City!

MSC Cruises has officially welcomed the brand new, innovative and dazzling MSC Seascape to its fleet.

MSC Seascape was launched and named at the Manhattan Cruise Terminal in the Big Apple, New York City, witnessed by more than 3,000 esteemed guests. New York will be MSC Seascape’s homeport in April 2023, where the fantastic new ship will sail from to a number of North American ports.

At the launch event, guests were treated to a spectacular performance by international singer-songwriter Matteo Bocelli, plus a gourmet gala dinner and performance by international Grammy Award winner singer/songwriter Ne-Yo.

MSC Seascape was blessed virtually by her Godmother, movie icon Sophia Loren, and the traditional cutting of the ribbon to name the new ship was conducted by the daughter of Gianluigi Aponte, MSC Group’s founder and executive chairman, Alexa Aponte-Vago.

One of the highlights of the past 20 years has been to officiate the christening of MSC Cruises fleet not only because the Apontes have become like family to me but also because MSC has always occupied a special place in my heart.

Let me bless the MSC Seascape, her great crew and all her passengers.

Alexa Aponte-Vago

MSC Seascape departed New York bound for her new homeport of Miami, where she is now sailing to the sunny climbs of the Caribbean and Bahamas for her first season.

Passengers can board MSC Seascape and sail on either an Eastern or Western Caribbean itinerary. On the Eastern Caribbean sailings, MSC Seascape will call at Ocean Cay MSC Marine Reserve and Nassau in The Bahamas, San Juan in Puerto Rico, and Puerto Plata in the Dominican Republic.

On her Western Caribbean itineraries, MSC Seascape will call at the Ocean Cay MSC Marine Reserve, Cozumel in Mexico, George Town in the Cayman Islands and Ocho Rios in Jamaica.

Onboard MSC Seascape, there are more than 2,270 cabins, 11 dining venues, 19 bars, six swimming pools, a grand waterfront promenade and one of the most luxurious Yacht Clubs in the entire MSC Cruises fleet. The ship is also home to innovative entertainment options, including 98 hours of live entertainment per cruise and ROBOTRON, the exhilarating amusement ride available at sea for the first time.

Alongside its incredible range of amenities, MSC Seascape has best-in-class wastewater treatment systems and is fitted with selective catalytic reduction systems to reduce nitrogen oxide emissions by up to 90 per cent.
