Former ‘Strictly Come Dancing’ Star is Godmother of CMV’s Magellan

This week the London Cruise Terminal in Tilbury will play host to the glamourous launch of Cruise & Maritime Voyages’ latest and greatest vessel, the Magellan.

To christen the ship and become the latest cruise ship Godmother is Gloria Hunniford, renowned for hosting TV shows such as Rip Off Britain and appearing as a reporter for This Morning and The One Show.

In 2005, Gloria even wowed the audience of BBC’s Strictly Come Dancing, even though she left during week three.

CMV’s Magellan is due to be named on March 12th and Hunniford will name the ship in front of 1,000 guests – including some of our own www.CRUISE.co.uk team!

CMV’s marketing head Mike Hall has said; “We are delighted that Gloria can be a part of this great day in our history. She is a popular TV presenter and much loved by the British public.”

The ship will be named just two days after the Queen herself names P&O’s new Britiannia, but will P&O overshadow the event? Only time will tell.

www.CRUISE.co.uk will have more info and images from CMV’s Magellan this week – if there’s anything you want to know or see from Cruise & Maritime’s latest and greatest, let us know in the comments below!
