Explorers And Wine Experts Among Fascinating Speakers Joining 2023 Seabourn Sailings

Renowned technology leaders, avid explorers, and wine experts will be joining guests on several Seabourn voyages this summer and autumn.

The luxury cruise line has announced a hit lineup of speakers as part of its Seabourn Conversations programme, designed to inform, entertain and enlighten passengers on a range of issues. The exclusive events will be hosted on several Seabourn sailings between June and November this year, focusing on various themes from Royalty to food.

Apple Co-founder, Steve Wozniak, is the first guest to join the special sailings this year. He will be sharing his insights into the computing giant and the industry today during talks on Seabourn Ovation from 11th June to 25th June.

Onboard Seabourn Venture, departing from Reykjavik on 2nd July for a 14-night Legends of the Icelandic Sagas voyage, three explorers and adventurers, Alison Levine, Heidemarie M. Stefanyshyn-Piper, and Dr. Beth Healey, will talk polar expeditions, space flight, and researching extreme environments with guests.

Alison, Seabourn Venture’s Godmother, is a renowned mountaineer and polar explorer, plus one of only 20 people to have climbed the highest peak on each continent and skied to the North and South Poles. Beth is a committed isolation and extreme environments researcher, who has previously worked for the European Space Agency.

Heidemarie is a former NASA Astronaut, veteran of two space flights, and five spacewalks. Previous to her time off earth, Heidemarie served in the U.S. Navy for more than 30 years.

In August, Bedfordshire-born Chef Robert Thompson, the youngest chef ever to receive a Michelin Star, will join a Seabourn Quest sailing from London to Quebec for 24 nights. In late October, MI5 former director general and role model for the character “M” in James Bond, Dame Stella Rimington, will join guests on Seabourn Ovation for a seven-day voyage around the Mediterranean, departing from Barcelona.

Royal cruise fans will be able to get the inside scoop on etiquette, photography and the inner workings of one of the most famous households in the world on Seabourn Encore’s 5th November Aegean Allure and Turkish Treasures cruise. Grant Harrold, Royal Butler, leading UK Etiquette Expert and Royal commentator, and Brian Aris, celebrity and Royal photographer, will share fascinating Royal insights during their talks onboard this Seabourn Encore sailing.


Seabourn Ovation will also be setting sail on 5th November with distinguished interior designer Justin Van Breda to talk all things art, creativity, and craftsmanship with guests onboard.

Leading wine and food experts will round out the Seabourn Conversations 2023 programme, joining guests on Seabourn Encore from 12th November to 19th November from Istanbul to Athens.

Writers, educators, wine editors and award-winning authors Mike DeSimone and Jeff Jenssen – dubbed the World Wine Guys – will chat all things grape alongside Will Lyons, an award-winning wine writer, broadcaster and Sunday Times Wine Critic during this food and drink intensive voyage.
