What is Celebrity MoveUp?
Celebrity MoveUp is a bidding programme that gives you the opportunity to upgrade your stateroom after you’ve purchased your cruise.
Am I eligible?
If your booking is within 30 days of the cruise departure date, you may be eligible for the Celebrity MoveUp programme. The programme applies to cruises, sail dates and stateroom categories selected at Celebrity Cruises’ discretion. Therefore, not all bookings will be offered the chance to participate.
How does Celebrity MoveUp work?
Celebrity Cruises will email you if your cruise is eligible for MoveUp (so make sure you’ve opted into their email correspondence!)
Using the link provided in the email, you will then be able to browse through the stateroom upgrades available and place your bid on the ones that take your fancy.
How much should I bid?
There is a minimum bid provided for each option listed on the website. Each offer should be priced per person, based on double occupancy for the length of your cruise. When you create your bid, the website will also display the likelihood of it being accepted. You can bid on multiple rooms to improve your chances, but you’ll only ever have to pay for one upgrade.
What happens if I change my mind?
You can change or cancel your bid up to two days before the cruise departs as long as your offer has not been accepted.
What happens if my offer is accepted?
Celebrity Cruises will notify you if your bid has ‘won’. You will then be automatically charged for the upgrade. Your offer can be accepted any time from when you submit it until up to two days before your cruise departs.
Don’t worry if you are not successful; you’ll still get to enjoy a fantastic cruise holiday staying in your original booked choice.
Do I have to upgrade once the offer is accepted?
Yes, the amount will be charged to your card immediately and is non-refundable.
Can I choose my upgraded room?
No, these are automatically assigned based on availability. If you have specific preferences on where you’d like your room to be located, it is better to book an upgrade directly.
What happens if we are a party larger than two people?
The great news is that if you are travelling as a larger party, you only have to pay the upgrade for the first and second guests. Additional guests can enjoy the upgrade at no extra cost.
And if I’m travelling solo?
Unfortunately, the cost of the upgrade will still be for double occupancy, i.e. you’ll have to pay for two. But at least you’ll get plenty of room to enjoy all to yourself!
What about additional promotions?
No additional promotions come with a MoveUp upgrade, but any promotions you have already purchased will be carried over and applied.
How does gratuity work with an upgrade?
There may be a higher gratuity charge when staying in an upgraded stateroom. If this is the case, the difference between your original gratuity and the upgraded rate will be automatically applied.
