Disney to the Rescue

When a twenty two year-old man fell overboard from a Royal Caribbean cruise ship he thought it was game over but thanks to a passing Disney Cruise Line vessel he was rescued just five hours later.

The man, who was not identified by authorities, somehow managed to fall overboard from the Oasis of the Seas vessel as it was sailing off the coast of Cozumel, Mexico, on January 8th 2015.

CCTV footage on-board Oasis of the Seas showed that the man was alone when he fell.

Scott Campbell was on-board the Disney Magic cruise ship with his daughter when he heard cries and spotted the man in the seas.

Speaking to CNN News, Cozumel Port captain Alfonso Rodríguez, said: “The passenger had thrown multiple lifesavers in the water to help him. They rescued him and gave him medical attention.”

Dramatic video footage of the rescue shows the man battling the waves as he heads toward an orange lifeboat that had been launched by the Disney Magic crew.

He was then taken to a local hospital, where he was looked after and flown back to the US in a good condition.

Well done to the crew of the Disney Magic is all the www.CRUISE.co.uk team have to say as we wish the unnamed individual a speedy recovery
