Do you like being able to cruise out of Southampton on all the latest cruise ships? Are you ready for some bad news?
Have you actually looked at the cruising schedule for 2016???
We’ve been looking at the cruise schedules for the next year or two and it looks like all the major cruise lines have made a conscious decision to send their biggest, newest or best ships anywhere BUT Southampton.
Obviously P&O will still be sailing from the UK, alongside Fred Olsen and Cruise and Maritime – but everyone else?
Royal Caribbean have sent their two newest ships away from the UK…
Princess cruises only have the Emerald Princess based in the UK…
As always there’s no Holland America or Norwegian Cruise Line in sight…
MSC still aren’t making the UK a priority for another year or two…
Even the luxury brands like Oceania and Silversea have scheduled less one off stops to Southampton than they normally would!
ALL the new ships; Royal/Regal Princess, Quantum/Anthem of the Seas, Costa Diadema and Carnival Vista etc. will be sailing from other countries for the foreseeable future!
Did we do something to upset the cruise lines do you think? Why don’t they love Southampton anymore?
Do Brits just not like cruising on new ships or do we not spend enough money to make it viable?
