Cunard are joining the nation in celebrating the coronation of His Majesty The King and Her Majesty The Queen Consort across the coming bank holiday weekend. The cruise line has a royal range of coronation-themed activities and events planned across all three of its Queens in the fleet.
Guests onboard Queen Mary 2, Queen Victoria and Queen Elizabeth will be immersed in the regal festivities with everything from street parties in the Grand Lobby, to royally themed musical performances, films and quizzes.
This follows Cunard’s announcement of their special Coronation Celebration Voyage, with Queen Mary 2 sailing roundtrip from Southampton to Liverpool on 2nd May.
Inspired by King Charles’ love of farming and agriculture, Cunard guests will be treated to an exclusive Coronation themed dinner menu on the evening of Saturday 6th May. This unique dining experience will include a selection of specially curated dishes, featuring some of his most-loved ingredients.
Cocktail-lovers will be able to raise a glass to Their Majesties The King and The Queen Consort with coronation themed drinks, such as “Coronation Oath” (made with prosecco, white vermouth, grapefruit and cardamom bitters) and the aptly named “Monarch Martini” – using Cunard’s 3 Queens Gin.
Additionally, Cunard’s world-renowned Insights program will feature royal commentator Dickie Arbiter, historian Caroline Aston and etiquette expert Grant Harrold.
Although all three ships will be at sea for the big day, this doesn’t mean that guests will miss out on witnessing the festivities at home! Cunard will be broadcasting the ceremony live from Westminster Abbey into the ships’ Royal Court Theatres and stateroom TVs.
During the main event, Queen Elizabeth guests will be embarking on their nine-night tour of Southern Japan and Taiwan, while those sailing on Queen Victoria will be returning from a 12-night voyage around the Canary Islands.
And the royal festivities don’t end there!
In honour of the Big Help Out, each ship will host a deck walk on Monday 8th May. Money raised will go to the youth charity The Prince’s Trust; helping young people who have faced disadvantage and adversity to build a better future through employment, education and enterprise.
Cunard has been a proud partner of the charity for the last 15 years, since the Queen Consort was named as godmother to Queen Victoria in 2007.
