Carnival Cruises just unveiled three exciting announcements you all need to be aware of…
Starting with the news that Carnival Sunshine just emerged from an extensive $200 million renovation, introducing:
-New water park with slides and kids splash zone
-Serenity, the adults-only retreat
-SportsSquare recreation area with ropes course and mini golf
-Punchliner Comedy Club in the new Limelight Lounge
-Playlist Productions shows in the Liquid Lounge
-Sing-along piano bar
-The Chef’s Table fine dining experience
-Cocktail pharmacy-themed Alchemy Bar
-A Cherry on Top sweet shop
-Pixels photo gallery
Guy’s Burger Joint and Guy’s Pig Anchor Smokehouse Bar-B-Que
-Two re-designed Captain’s Suites and updates to all staterooms
“The introduction of Carnival Sunrise brings an incredibly enhanced ship to our guests with all of the popular features from across our fleet,” said Christine Duffy, president of Carnival Cruise Line.
“We couldn’t be more proud to introduce Carnival Sunrise in Norfolk.”
The ship just kicked off an exciting inaugural season of four- to 14-day voyages that visit destinations in the Caribbean, Bermuda, Bahamas, the Panama Canal, New England and Canada.
“As we continue to build Mardi Gras’ diverse entertainment line-up, we are excited about offering this iconic game show onboard and involving our guests in a great new way to Choose Fun.”
The iconic TV game show (known as Family Fortunes in the UK) will feature on the line’s new ship once it debuts in 2020.
Two five-person teams will battle it out in rounds for a chance to win a host of prizes; this is welcome to all ages.
Rick Glankler, president of commercial operations for Fremantle, added, “Our show has been wildly successful for more than 40 years, but it’s never been showcased at sea, so this is an unbelievably exciting opportunity for us. Carnival’s audience is perfectly aligned with our show, and we cannot wait to give Mardi Gras’ guests the chance to play Family Feud Live.”
The third and final announcement from Carnival includes the news of an exclusive partnership with Zumbini, a high-energy kids programme.
The classes are created by Zumba and BabyFirst that combine singing, dancing and playing- perfect for families as it’s free of charge and keeps children engaged and learning!
It will all be led by Carnival‘s trained youth staff and aimed at the line’s youngest cruisers, taking place within the Camp Ocean play areas:
-All voyages: 30-minute drop-off class for Carnival Penguins age group (two to five years old)
-Voyages of 6 days or longer: 30 to 45 minute family class for children up to six years old focused on parent/child bonding
“Carnival carries 800,000 children annually, the most in cruising, so we’re always expanding and enhancing our onboard programming to provide even the youngest cruisers an unforgettable experience,” said Chris Nelson, vice president of entertainment for Carnival Cruise Line.
“We are so excited to bring Zumbini to our ships and to give families and their children a unique experience.”
“When we realised that Zumba was transforming the fitness community and turning rigorous dance and aerobic movements into fun, approachable and sharable experiences, we saw the potential to make classes specific to families and children,” said Alberto Perlman, CEO of Zumba.
