Breaking News: Celebrity Edge Is Arriving EARLY

Breaking News: Celebrity Edge Is Arriving EARLY

*Update as of 5/1/18*

Celebrity Cruises has just released some incredibly exciting news: Celebrity Edge will be completed ahead of schedule, allowing her to enter service earlier than expected!

Edge will now make her official debut on a new 7-night Western Caribbean sailing departing from Ft. Lauderdale on 9th December 2018.

This inaugural sailing will visit the breathtaking ports of Key West, Cozumel, Costa Maya, and Grand Cayman, however Celebrity are also pleased to announce four new preview cruises too.

For those who cannot wait until the 9th December for their first taste of Celebrity Edge, there are four three-night Bahamas cruises on offer that will sail round-trip from Fort Lauderdale on the 21st and 24 November, and the 3rd and 6th December 2018.

These sailings will go on sale on the 8th January, so make sure you keep up to date with this page (prices are coming soon!)

Celebrity Cruises has just announced that their newest ship, Celebrity Edge, will homeport in Rome and Barcelona come summer 2019.

The 2,900-passenger ship, which is due to launch autumn 2018, will include a call at Southampton on May 13th 2019 for a two-night mini-cruise, strictly for travel agents and media.

The first sailing for paying passengers will be a 10-night cruise from Southampton to Rome on May 15th 2019.

It will be one of five Celebrity ships that are based in Europe 2019, including Celebrity Silhouette which the line has confirmed will return to Southampton for a second year.

Silhouette will replace Celebrity Eclipse, which has spent eight years cruising from Southampton, and begin homeporting there in April 2018.

Celebrity Edge will offer seven-night Barcelona and Rome sailings in the peak season and early summer; in autumn, it will sail roundtrip 10-night Western Mediterranean and 11-night Eastern cruises.

The seven-night ‘open-jaw’ itineraries are unique, calling at a total of 11 ports, with only one repeat port of call in Florence. Passengers can also opt for a back-to-back 14-night cruise.

Additionally, Edge will:

-Sail two new ports for Celebrity: Nauplion, Greece (11-night) and Santa Margherita, Italy (10-night)

-Offer longer stay in ports including Ibiza, Monte Carlo, Naples

-Call in at 30 ports in 10 countries and offer five overnights

“From our expansive new itineraries, including three exciting new ports of call and overnights in 16 cities across the region, to our specially curated shore excursions, there’s a reason we’re continually recognised and win multiple awards,” commented Lisa Lutoff-Perlo, President and CEO, Celebrity Cruises.

Edge is now known as the game-changer for Celebrity, pioneering a revolutionary new design which sees infinite balconies that increase cabin size, and a platform on the side of the ship which doubles as a tender station and restaurant/bar called the “Magic Carpet.”

The other Celebrity ships that will be Europe-based in 2019 include:

-Celebrity Infinity, which will be based in Rome and Venice

-Celebrity Constellation, which will be based in Venice, Barcelona and Rome

-Celebrity Reflection, which replaces Celebrity Eclipse in Dublin
