Let me introduce you to …

My first impressions of 6* Cruising.

As you may have read I have just recently had an amazing opportunity to have a few nights on the Silversea Shadow and what an amazing experience it was. People I have spoken to in the past would claim Silverseas and other 6* star cruises to be posh, stuffy, formal that’s me included !! I thought I would stand out with my Lancashire accent. Not at all what you absolutely get is luxury, elegant surroundings very understated with ultra all-inclusive ( and I mean ALL INCLUSIVE ) with first-class dining.

Let me introduce you to Daniel

Daniel was my butler and he was lovely and most definitely not intrusive ( I had the image of them being a bit like your mum as a child following you around picking your towel up off the floor etc ) he was just there when you needed him but didn’t pounce on you either.

My cabin was a Verandah with a walk-in wardrobe, bathroom with bath and shower and two sinks. Daniel gave me a choice of toiletries and I chose Bvlgari.
A bottle of champagne was waiting on ice for me as well as a stocked mini-bar and nibbles then Daniel brought me a bottle of my chosen spirits. All Included.

There was two things that became really apparent once I was on board and started experiencing the cruise. The first which actually blew me away was how friendly the staff was and that was every single person I came across and it certainly wasn’t strained and put on I have never experienced service quite like it. This also extended to all the guests from all different countries onboard everyone was so friendly. The second was how spacious the ship was, she holds 382 passengers yet when we pulled up next to another ( unamed ship ) which held over a 1000 passengers the Shadow was actually the same size. No where was overcrowded

That’s it from me on my first impressions of luxury I will be back soon with more to tell you all.
