Just in time for 2020

The year of 2020 is going to be a big one for the port of Southampton, which is the biggest cruise terminal in Northern Europe. Southampton welcomes more than 2 million passengers every year and looks like this could increase very soon.

As well as the ships already using Southampton we have more for 2020. The hype has already started with the launch of P&O ‘s brand new ship the ‘Iona’ which will be the biggest ship in the fleet.
Royal Caribbean announced the news of welcoming back ‘Anthem of the Seas ‘ which goes on sale next week. Hot off the press …… as well as the Independence of the seas the Uk’s favourite ship. How will you choose which one ??

Princess will have three ships out of Southampton.

The second ship of the Celebrity Edge class ‘The Apex’ will have her naming in Ceremony in April in Southampton which is the first time in a decade they have done this.

All very exciting !!!

The cruise terminal needs to keep up and be ready for the larger ships and the continued growth of the cruise industry. A £12 million project has begun at the Ocean cruise terminal and it is said it will take just over a year to complete.Lets hope we don’t have to many disruptions whilst its taking place.

Have you planned for 2020 yet? The launches from the cruise companies have all been earlier than normal and certainly than what we expected. This is a big gamble you would think? It certainly didn’t appear to be and I would say the gamble paid off. The P&O launch in September was huge and probably one of the most successful launches for a few years.

Is the best yet to come though with Royal Caribbean and Celebrity ? Time will tell ….
