Branson teases with Adults only cruise ship

Sir Richard Branson has started to release the plans for the new cruise ships that will add to ‘ Virgin Voyages ‘ in 2020. He has started the announcements with little ‘ship teases’ to reveal his plans. The first ship’s experience announced was the ‘Adult by Design’ so any passengers or ‘sailors’ as they will be known must be at least 18 to step aboard. He has however also said that as he has grandchildren he will not get away with not launching a family friendly ship also in the future.

He is impressed, but not fazed by the extremely competitive and innovative nature of the cruise industry and judging by his other companies he has created I’m sure his launch in the Cruise market will be just as successful.

His attitude to this venture will be using the same principles as he has to his other businesses and create something luxurious but fun. Maybe appeal to those that have not cruised before and then get the regular cruisers to try them.

The brand will not be about gimmicks and tricks or Vegas-style entertainment , their plan is for their ships to be the most recognizable ships at seas. The ships I think are going to replicate some of the themes of the latest Msc and Celebrity ships all about connecting to the sea. Having 86% of all the cabins featuring a balcony or sea terrace as they will be known and 93% an ocean view.

The design is said to be silver , white with a dash of red to match the rest of his business empires with smoked glass windows, sleek looking yacht which doesn’t scream a cruise ship.
The same artist who he used for the Virgin galactic lady has also designed am image of a mermaid and this said to be displayed on the bow of all the ships.

I bet there are a lot of cruise staff employees wanting to jump ship when they launch ( pardon the pun) as it is well known that he looks after his staff really well and he takes pride on the fact the better they are looked after the better they perform !!!

I cannot wait to see more on these ships so lets hope he drops some more teasers soon …..
